two of my favourite things

Today I am participating in my first yarn along! That means a post which combines two of my favourite things, knitting and reading. Currently I'm reading Pickwick Papers by Dickens and loving it. I should be finished already as it was for my book club which met to discuss it yesterday. I didn't quite make it although I'm less than 100 pages away. I'm knitting Ishbel by Ysolda Teague which is my first foray into lacework. So far I'm loving it, although I've discovered that it isn't the best project to bring along to stitch and bitch. Tinking sl1, k2tog, psso is not a very fun thing. This is definitely a knit while alone project. Audio books anyone?

Yes to audiobooks!! The book I "read" last week, which was a very thick book by the way, I was able to get unabridged on audio. Honestly, it was so much fun to be able to crochet and listen at the same time!!

Oh my that purple is amazing! Love purple! And I know wht you mean about some projects and talking, the two just don't mix. I think that is why I have a few going on right now. Some I can take to the ski mountain while the girls ski and I can knit and talk and some that I do in the early mornings before anyonw wakes and it's still too cold out to do chores.

As for audiobooks. Gotta love them.

Hope you'll be back to participate in the yarn along again. It is such an amazing group of women.

Blessings, Elizabeth

Gosh! You'd better not come near me wearing that when you've finished. I'm likely to rip it off you and run far, far away - lol! Beautiful purple!!!

I really love lace knitting myself. I just started too and I'm working from a book called Victorian Lace Today. The book itself is full of beautifully photographed layouts and designs of scarfs and shawls that are just gorgeous.

Thanks for all of the kind comments. I am loving this pattern and the yarn! It's the recommended yarn for the pattern in the plum colour way if I remember right.

I've gotten all kinds of free audio books from booksshouldbefree.com they use librivox recordings but in an easier to download format.
