settling in

Today I have been home, back in Charlotte, for a week.

When I go for a walk from work over to Borders people are freaked out that I would walk that far. (To be fair it took longer than I expected.) I don't pass very many people when I walk but they all smile at me, some say hi.

There is truth to the saying, "it's like riding a bicycle" although in my case it was driving a car.

Just when I was being overwhelmed by my big church and all it's polish the Lord showed me just what I need to see and spoke just what I needed to hear and the lady behind me greeted and prayed for the ladies beside me and I saw community, true community, in Charlotte at my huge church.

I had dinner with my sisters last night. We had cherries and chocolate for dessert.

I miss our Transit house full of Rosie's cookies and Mark's drumming and our laughter. I miss Guildford and feeling like I belong, not just somewhere but in the midst of a community.

But it's only been a week and: Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.

Goodnight, sleep tight.

Glad to hear that you are finding what you need in Charlotte. You are definitely missed here. I went into the prayer room and everything was straightened. I wondered if you had just been there, but, of course, you hadn't.

We're still going through our string of goodbyes. Lauren & Mick are leaving this weekend.

Keep up the walking!

Glad to hear you don't forget how to drive. I'm a little concerned about that!
